Miami Dolphins players having fun again during two-game win streak - 11/15/11
The first time Jared Odrick broke out his “Pee-Wee Herman” sack dance last month against Tim Tebow and the Broncos, the Dolphins weren’t in a good enough mood after the game to judge it.

But after Odrick got to perform it again Sunday in Miami’s first home win in 364 days, even coach Tony Sparano was willing to give his take on it Monday.

“I told Odrick on the sideline I thought it was an ugly dance,” said Sparano, who wasn’t the only person in the Dolphins winning locker room to rip Odrick’s dancing skills.

Said Jason Taylor, a former Dancing With The Stars contestant: “He’s embarrassing himself.”

The truth is the Dolphins, once 0-7 and real players in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, are hardly embarrassing themselves anymore.

By beating the Redskins 20-9, the Dolphins have put themselves in a position to pull off their first three-game winning streak since 2008 when they host the downward spiraling Buffalo Bills, who are suddenly a 2-point underdog for Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff.

They’re also having fun. Things are going so well, they’re breaking down dance moves. Karlos Dansby is making proclamations about being the best linebacker in the NFL. That recent locker room spat between receiver Brandon Marshall and cornerback Vontae Davis? Old news.

Remember that “we stink” comment Reggie Bush made and Yeremiah Bell didn’t like? Buried.

Happiness reigns. Confidence and hope, too. How did we get here? Players pointed to their coach Sunday. Sparano pointed back at them Monday, saying they’re the reason the team is finally starting to trend upward.

“I think it could have went either way easily if you had a poor locker room,” Sparano said. “We don’t, we have good leadership, good bunch of guys.

“The thing with our football team is they aren’t afraid to work, they’ve never been afraid to work. I think that’s a good start no matter where you are whether you’re winning or whether you’re not winning. They like lifting weights, they like going out to the practice field, they practice hard. They don’t mind doing those things. You’re not going to intimidate them that way.
